World Down Syndrome Day 

March 21st is selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome.

That day around the world, awareness is being raised to encourage society to meet the people with Down's syndrome and provide them with support and assistance.

Symbol of Down Syndrome Day is to wear colorful socks because we are all different but equally valuable. By wearing colorful socks, we show support for people with Down syndrome to integrate into our society as much as possible.

Children with Down syndrome are very emotionally warm, they always bring their brightness into the environment they are in, they are very tolerant, and opened with anybody who makes contact with them. They shine with love and happiness which is why they go the name “sunflowers”.
